Baptism is a defining moment in the life of a believer. It’s the first step of obedience after trusting in Christ.

Romans 6:4 explains it clearly: “For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives.”

Baptism is a symbol. It shows the world that our old life is buried and our new life has begun. It represents our union with Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection.

At Macedonia Baptist Church, like most Southern Baptist churches, we baptize by full immersion. This method best represents the biblical model and the powerful picture of dying to sin and being raised to new life.

Baptism doesn’t save us—only faith in Christ does. But baptism is a public declaration that we belong to Jesus. It’s a celebration of what God has already done in our hearts.

If you have trusted Christ but have not yet been baptized, it’s time to take this important step of faith. Baptism isn’t just a ritual; it’s a joyful testimony to the world that you are a new creation in Christ.
